Welcome to the Personal Growth BookClub Copenhagen! On the 10th of October we will discuss the topic of time management and finitude based on the book "Four Thousand Weeks" Main book 📚 "Four Thousand Weeks: Time Management for Mortals" by Oliver Burkeman 🧠 Topic Overview: Finitude, Prioritization & Time Management We often spend our lives waiting for the moment when we finally get everything under control, only to feel increasingly overwhelmed. By embracing our finite lifespan—roughly 4,000 weeks—we can let go of the fantasy of "doing it all," focus on what truly matters, build a healthier relationship with time, and find peace in our everyday choices. 📚 Book Description: Four Thousand Weeks by Oliver Burkeman In Four Thousand Weeks, journalist Oliver Burkeman offers a liberating reality check to standard productivity advice. Rather than teaching you how to squeeze more tasks into your day, the book explores how to accept your limitations and spend your time intentionally: ⏳ The Limits of Time: Recognizing that modern productivity traps us in an endless loop of doing more. 💡 Joy of Missing Out (JOMO): Choosing what to neglect so you can fully commit to what actually matters. 🎯 Presence over Efficiency: Shifting focus from future accomplishment to enjoying the present process. 🤝 Meaningful Engagement: Rethinking work, rest, and relationships through the lens of our shared human mortality. The book offers a fresh, philosophical approach to managing your life, helping you break free from "productivity guilt" and build a more meaningful, intentional existence. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- I am trying Luma for this event, so you can also find the meetup here: https://luma.com/gfuqtqqk and follow the calendar: https://luma.com/calendar/cal-DWmnurqV0cOmB8T \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- What can you expect from the meetup? A safe space to discuss about the topic A short summary of the book by one of the members (Agnes will do it this time) A not-so-strict moderated discussion based on the book Sometimes, short participative activities to activate the discussion or reach common grounds and conclusions. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- Changes from October 2025: 1. Meetups are still based on topics but there will be a main book to lead the discussion. An optional book (often a more popular one) will also be suggested. 2. One member will make a short summary of the book to introduce the topic (and the book) 3. The moderator(s) will be chosen randomly from a pool of volunteers. 4. The book club accepts donations to afford the Meetup Fee. MobilePay: 8145PW. Donations are not mandatory and the quantity is free.
