Rue has spent eight years in limbo, forcibly displaced, separated from her family and suffering deep personal losses, before finally being granted protection. She is now organizing an event that blends her migration journey storytelling with an academic panel.Rue will be on stage in drag alongside a panel addressing the audience. Chronologically, Rue will narrate her migration journey, exploring why it started, the specific asylum centers she lived in, the forced transfers between countries, and the legal decisions taken. The narration will be paused organically by myself or the panel to give their professional insights. At the event we will serve food and drinks to celebrate the end of a sad chapter and the start of a new hopeful chapter.
