Both days are from 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM - with the option to continue working afterward until 6:00 PM under the guidance of Aleksander Glich and with assistance from potter Bjarne Christensen. Aleksander Glich will review the methods he uses in creating his works - throwing, assembly and deconstruction - and tell about the thoughts, ideas and analyses behind his work. Here the artist describes the workshop himself: "The workshop will focus on section throwing as a technique of introducing spontaneity into designed form. Fundamental shapes of cylindrical bottle and spherical moon jar will be analysed from the perspective of deconstructing them by bringing out their constituent elements. Participants will be introduced to the methods and aesthetics of assembling thrown shapes that the artist has learned and developed during his studies and apprenticeships in Korea, Poland and France. The participants will then be encouraged to apply their personal interpretation of these techniques to the forms they work with in their everyday practice." Aleksander Glich works around thrown objects, but it should be emphasized that the methods and ideas behind the work are equally relevant for those working with modeled objects. An extremely inspiring and rarely offered course - limited places so first come, first served. About the artist: Aleksander Glich holds a Master's degree from the Polish Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design, and a Master's degree in Polish Literature from the University of Warsaw. Aleksander Glich subsequently apprenticed with Korean ceramic artist Seungho Yang in his studio in Taen, South Korea, and worked in La Borne in France. Currently, Aleksander Glich works at Guldagergård, International Ceramic Research Center. Aleksander Glich's works have been exhibited in Poland, Korea, France and most recently he is participating with works at this summer's ClayTopia, Guldagergård.
