Surviving the Danish Winter (with a Touch of Hygge)As the days grow shorter and temperatures drop, you might be wondering how Danes make it through the long, dark winter months. At this café, we will explore Danish winter culture, seasonal traditions and everyday tips for embracing the colder months. We will also take a closer look at hygge and how it plays a role in Danish everyday life. Throughout the evening, participants can take part in fun seasonal activities, including pakkeleg (a traditional Danish gift game), creative crafts and communal singing. There will also be plenty of opportunities to share winter traditions from different cultures, exchange experiences and connect with others in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Come along for an evening of conversation, seasonal activities and a touch of Danish hygge, with gløgg and light refreshments to keep everyone warm. About the projectMeet the International Ambassadors of Ørestad, a group of 12 volunteer ambassadors - both internationals and Danes – brought together by the shared belief in community, inclusion, and the power of meaningful connections. Together with International House Copenhagen, the ambassador corps creates welcoming spaces where newcomers and long-time residents can meet, talk, and grow together - and make Copenhagen feel more like home. Whether you’re new to Denmark or simply looking to expand your social circle, you can join the events that are open to everyone
