This year's recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature is Canadian author Anne Carson, recognized for a body of work that is modern, imaginative, and literary steeped in classical traditions. Anne Carson writes clearly and intellectually about desire, loss, grief, and love. She is one of our time's greatest writers! This evening, translator Mathilde Moestrup presents Carson's life and work. She places her authorship in a literary-historical context and explores why she specifically is the Nobel Prize recipient. Mathilde Moestrup holds a cand.mag. in literary studies, is a fiction author, literary critic at Dagbladet Information, and has translated Anne Carson's 'The Glass Essay' (2024) and 'The Beautiful Husband' (2026) into Danish.
